Hello,

You are lagging in ET , how can you get rid of it? Many reasons can induce your discomfort and your power to play. 2 commands exist to set it on the server game but first some informations I cut it and make it simple :

The default rate is 5000 this is set by Activision in your game ,if your rate is set to something not appropriate for the type of connection that you have you will lag. If you're playing over a DSL , LAN or Cable Modem connection , your rate should be set to 25000.

To set your rate do that :
* open your console (~) and type "/rate (number)"
Example /rate 25000

* You can do it also in Options :
In the main menu "Options" then "System" and check the connection speed (near the bottom of the screen) don't forgot to press Apply.

* The second command is your maxpackets :
In your console type this command : /cl_maxpackets *number*

FBI servers allows you to set this with values between 30 and 100.

Conclusion :
/rate 25000
/cl_maxpackets 100 (example)
and in theory you lag less or not at all

don't mean to go against what you said here, but rate settings depend also on how close you are to a server. say you live close setting rate at 25000 may make it worse, just depends so rather than setting it at 25000 play around with it.
and max packets also depends, so play with that to

sorry had to post good topic though at least people will know how to do this

As for examples of settings, yes they are pointed to q3 so if u r lazy u can copy past, but i suggest to try individual values for all commands if u know what is your bandwitch (check your speed) and how many max fps u can get. In ET u can also see other internet settings by typing:

/players

there are some lame people who use netlimiters wich they adjust so they have no lag and others will lag when they are in fight.
